  • Roster and Waiver Deadline: 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 31st: Your full roster must be submitted to our office by this date. Rosters will be frozen at this time. Your signed waiver form must also be received in our office by this date. Waivers will not be accepted at the event.
  • By registering for this event, all teams agree to follow the Roster & Waiver submission policies and procedures.
  • If the above deadline is not met, your team will be pulled from the tournament and a refund will NOT be issued.
  • Teams must check in at least hour one prior to their first game.
  • Roster limit of 18. Minimum of 10. Teams must be all of one gender.

COMPETITION FORMAT

  • Teams must supply current team rating/classification and all other names used or played under during the period of one year.
  • Teams must provide a scorekeeper as well as their own bats, gloves, and practice balls.
  • Teams are no longer limited to the number of out-of-state players on their roster. It is the captain’s responsibility to declare team residency subject to KSG for approval, at the time of registration. Team roster participants who are unable to compete may be replaced after the official registration deadline for valid medical reasons only.
  • Teams that add two or more players from a higher rated team may be subject to reclassification.
  • All registration and team rules apply to non-playing coaches, non-playing captains and non-playing bench personnel.
  • Athletes may compete with only one team per sport.
  • Age divisions for all team competition will be determined by the age of the youngest player as of December 31, 2018.
  • If numbers are conducive, teams will be divided into pools within their age divisions. Within each pool, a single round-robin tournament will be played. Each team will play a minimum of three (3) games. A team may play another team more than one time to determine winners. In age groups where single teams are entered, that team will be given exhibition opportunities with the closest age division. A single team entry will be an automatic winner and will not detract from the record of any opposing team.
  • Men in age divisions 50+, 55+, 60+: Ten (10) defensive players shall constitute a team.
  • Men in age divisions 65+, 70+, 75+: Eleven (11) defensive players shall constitute a team.
  • All women’s age divisions: Eleven (11) defensive players shall constitute a team.
  • Games against a younger team:
    • If a team plays a younger team the older team gets the choice of 11 men or 5 runs.
  • Men’s and women’s teams will be divided into maximum of three skill divisions – Division I (highest level), Division II and Division III (recreational) based on the number of teams in each division and pool play results. Skill divisions will be utilized as needed as determined by the Sports Commissioner. Current national senior softball ratings may be considered. Note: In an effort to standardize skill categories in all NSGA team sports, the softball skill divisions have been renamed. NSGA skill divisions may not reflect the actual team rating as determined by the National Senior Softball Summit Ratings Committee.
  • Games against a higher rated opponent:
    • When a team is playing an opponent with a higher classification (for example an Division I team competing against a Division II or Division III team), the lower classified team shall be given the choice of competing with an extra outfielder or having 5 runs added to their score to begin the game.
    • If a younger team is playing an older team with a higher rating, this rule is void.
  • KSG reserves the right to change the tournament format for any age division based on entry numbers, space restrictions, skill levels, or other circumstance.
  • Ties for team medal placements will be resolved in the following order:
