Washburn University. Check-in will take place near the Southeast entrance to Lee Arena.

  • 5:00 p.m. - 5:50 p.m.
  • Bib Numbers: Participants will receive bib numbers at this time. All bib numbers must be secured and visible on the front of shirt.
  • Body Marking: Participants will be body marked at this time. Bib number will be marked on upper arms. Wave number will be marked on calve. Division will be marked on calve
  • Participants will be organized by waves inside Lee Arena. Please be ready 15 minutes before your wave is scheduled to start.


  • The Safety/Transition Mini Clinic is mandatory for all participants and will take place at the following times for each age group.
  • Ages 13-14: 5:15 p.m.
  • Ages 11-12: 5:30 p.m.
  • Ages 9-10: 5:45 p.m.
  • Ages 7-8: 6:00 p.m.


  • The competition will begin at 6:30 p.m. The 13-14 Age Division will start first, followed by 11-12, then 9-10, and finally 7-8.
  • Wave starts will be utilized. Wave start times will be posted on this web site two days prior to the competition.
  • Participants will be organized by waives inside Lee Arena. Please be ready 15 minutes before your waive is scheduled to start.


  • The swim portion of the event will be held in the Washburn University Indoor Pool, located next to Lee Arena.
  • The pool is 25 meters and will be staffed with certified lifeguards, event staff and volunteers.
  • When participants have completed their swim, they must WALK toward the South exit to reach to the transition area. Once outside, participants may run to their set-up area.



  • The Transition area will be located in the parking lot South of the Tennis courts.
  • Transition area will open at 5:00 p.m. and close promptly at 5:50 p.m. Participants must be checked-in and body marked prior to entering the transition area.
  • This will be the only time parents or outside help will be allowed to help participants set-up their transition area. Please arrive early.
  • No one other than participants will be allowed to enter the transition area during the race. Volunteers in the transition area will assist participants if needed.
  • Parents may retrieve items upon completion of the race with volunteer/staff approval.
  • Participants will not be allowed to change out of clothes, no nudity.
  • Participants must have their helmets on, clipped and secured, with bib numbers visibly secured on the front of their shirt before being allowed to leave the transition area.
  • Participants must walk bike out of the transition area, no mounting or riding in the transition area.
  • Participants must dismount prior to returning to the transition area in the dismount zone.


  • The Bike route will be located on the campus of Washburn University.
  • Participants may use any safe and road-worthy bike (off-road, on-road, or youth) that is pedaled and propelled by them with the exception of recumbent bikes.
  • Bicycles may only have standard drop, straight or curved handle bars that are plugged on the ends for safety. No area or time trail handlebars will be allowed.
  • No disk wheels, wheel covers or area helmets will be allowed.
  • Riders must stay on the right and only pass on the left, letting racers know when passing.
  • If there are any issues with a participant's bike, they must let a volunteer know. They may not abandon their bikes.
  • Participants may not mount their bikes until out of the West exit in the transition area (mount zone) and must dismount bike prior to returning to transition (dismount zone) and drop their bike off in the same location.
  • Bike course will not have a water station. Participants may have water bottles safely secured to bicycles.
  • Race officials reserve the right to disallow any bicycle deemed unsafe. Any unusual bicycle must be approved by race officials prior to competition.


  • The Run route will be located on the campus of Washburn University.
  • Participants will exit East out of the transition area and onto the run course.
  • The course will be clearly marked for each age group with volunteers along the course.
  • There will be water stations along each route.
  • Participants must wear shoes at all times. 
  • The finish line will be on the track inside the football stadium.
