COMPETITION FORMAT:The top three players will win a Gold (1st place), Silver (2nd place), or Bronze (3rd Place) medal in each class and in each session. Competition will be limited to 54 players per session. Players will pitch in a round robin format. Each participant will be placed in divisions/classes based on their ringer percentage (beginners pitch against beginners), with a round robin format. Cadets (under the age of 10) pitch from 20 ft., juniors (age 10-18) pitch from 30 ft., men pitch from 40 ft., women pitch from 30 ft., and elders (age 70+) pitch from 30 ft. National Horseshoe Pitchers Association Rules will apply, except as modified by the commissioners. All horseshoes must be within six inches of the stake to score. All games will be cancellation and 40 shoe games. TWO PERSON TEAM
COMPETITION FORMAT:The top three teams out of the teams that win Gold Medals (1st place) in the round robin class tournament will also receive trophies for first, second, and third place, based on overall win-loss records and total points accumulated. A team consists of two pitchers, with both pitchers pitching in every round. A team could be made up of all cadets (under the age of 10), juniors (age 10-18), men, women, or elders (age 70+), or a mix of juniors, men, women, and elders. Cadets pitch from 20 ft., juniors pitch from 30 ft., men pitch from 40 ft., women pitch from 30 ft., and elders pitch from 30 ft. The maximum number of teams is limited to 45 teams of two persons. Substitutes during a game will NOT be allowed. If a player drops out during a game, then the team will forfeit that game. The number of games pitched will be determined by the number of team entries. A win counts for 1 point and a tie game will be half a point (.5). Winners will be determined based on total wins. In case of a tie for first place we will use total points to determine the winner. The pitchers for each will be numbered 1, 2, and 3 based on their ringer percentage, with 1 having the highest ringer percentage of the team, 2 the second highest, etc. Each team member will pitch a round robin with the corresponding number of the opponent's team. 1s will pitch against 1s, 2st against 2s, and 3s against 3s. Players will NOT pitch against their own team members. The maximum number of teams is limited to 15 teams of three persons. Substitutes during a game will NOT be allowed. If a player drops out during a game, then the team will forfeit that game.
