ENTRY GUIDELINES
An Essay Entry Must:
- Explain to other Kansans what it is you do to Get Up! Get Out! Get Healthy!
- Be declared an authentic work by the entrant.
- Satisfy the essay length requirements based upon age at the date of entry. (See below.)
- Must be typed. (Assistance may be provided.)
- Be submitted with a typed entry form by June 1, 2013.
Essay Length Requirements (minimum/maximum word count):

200 - 500 words

18 years of age and older |
500 - 750 words

Who is Eligible?
- Any Kansas resident Kindergarten age or older.
- Immediate family members of SSG or KaMMCO employees and board members are not eligible to participate.
What can you win?
A Gold, Silver and Bronze medalist will be named from all entries combined. The medalist will be selected by a panel of judges from the Sunflower State Games and the Kansas Medical Mutual Insurance Company.
Medalists will receive the following:
- Gold Medalist: $300 cash prize, SSG Gold Medal, statewide recognition, and a 2013 SSG sport entry.
- Silver Medalist: $150 cash prize, SSG Silver Medal, statewide recognition, and a 2013 SSG sport entry.
- Bronze Medalist: $50 cash prize, SSG Bronze Medal, statewide recognition, and a 2013 SSG sport entry.
Each medalist will also be recognized at the 2013 Sunflower State Games VIP Reception to be held Wednesday, July 10 in Topeka, KS.
