Please note: starting times are approximate only and will depend on the number entries.



  • Competitors are required to provide their own rackets. Shuttlecocks will be provided.
  • Play will be conducted on four courts in an air-conditioned gymnasium.
  • If requested, the commissioner will assign doubles partners if possible.
  • The age division of competition for Doubles and Mixed Doubles will be determined by the age of the younger of the two partners as of July 25, 2014 except in the case of 10-14 year old participants. Age determination for all participants will be their age the day of competition.
  • Depending on the number of entries, age groups may be modified. A true double elimination format will not always be possible. Bronze medal will be decided between the losing semi-finalists. Consolation brackets will be run.
  • With the aim of officiating all matches, those not actively in a match are requested to Umpire, Line Judge or update the draws. 
  • Play will be in accordance with USA Badminton rules, in line with International rules of rally scoring and 21-point games (extended at 20-all to a 2-point winning margin, in no case beyond a score of 30). A USA Badminton National Umpire will be available. For complete rules visit the Badminton World Federation.
  • There will be no official lunch break, however players/families may use the lobby area for refreshments that they bring or share.
