The Athlete Festival is the official kickoff party of the 2012 Games with food, music and fun for the whole family! Participants and supporters of the Games are welcome to join us in celebrating the start of the 23rd Annual Sunflower State Games. 2011 Athletes of the Year Bailey Atkinson and Travis Conley will light the torch to "Let the Games Begin." The 5K/10K Governor's Cup Road Race will Follow the ceremony.

ADMISSION: FREE

• Complimentary picnic provided by Hy-Vee to the first 500 Registered SSG Athletes and Volunteers. Must have registration confirmation or 2012 Sunflower State Games T-Shirt for complimentary picnic
• Free custard will be provided by Freddy's Frozen Custard to those in attendance
• Kansas Army National Guard Climbing Wall
